our love story
Erica and Chris met in 2017 after the company Erica worked for purchased the shop where Chris was the lead graphic designer. She came in with the owner’s family to check out the location and talk about website needs, imagining nothing more than a routine workday.
Then she saw Chris behind his computer. He was focused, calm, and completely in his element. Long, beautiful hair, attention to detail, the whole vibe. Erica was instantly smitten.
And then her throat betrayed her.
Right in the middle of introductions, she started coughing uncontrollably. Not a cute cough. A can’t breathe, eyes watering, please stop kind of cough. Chris offered her water from the break room, fully aware there was zero water in there, but she went anyway. She found nothing. She continued choking. The meeting continued around her as if she wasn’t actively fighting for her life.
After she finally recovered and wandered the shop pretending to regain dignity, Chris walked over to talk to her. He noticed she seemed nervous. She noticed she had butterflies.
From that moment, something stuck.
They kept finding reasons to talk.

the proposal
Eight years in, Chris decided to propose in the most Chris way possible. He planned to spell PROPOSE on the Scrabble board, and even grabbed most of the letters ahead of time. The only one he still needed was an O.
He kept waiting for it to show up in his tiles, completely unaware that Erica was sitting across from him with almost every O in the entire game.
She had unintentionally hoarded them.
When he finally pulled the last “O” he needed, he placed the word on the board and said, “You’re gonna hate me.”
Erica looked down, saw PROPOSE, and said, “Do you even know what that means?”
That was his cue. He stood up, walked around the table, and actually proposed.
Erica’s jaw dropped.
Tyler’s jaw dropped.
Then came the quickest yes of her life.
